POSITION:

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the systems/application engineering of carton handling conveyor systems. Each system is custom designed per customer specifications. This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and project management to develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customer's requirements for functionality, productivity and expense. Systems Project Engineers typically work on the design of larger and more complex systems. You will also be required to manage System Project Engineers in processing smaller systems engineering jobs.

The Systems Project Engineer:

• Designs/Enhances conveyor systems.
• Estimates job costs.
• Creates required plan views of conveyor system, including the warehouse building.
• Creates required elevation and/or section views.
• Generates custom conveyor order specification sheets for shop use.
• Generates all work orders for materials required for installation.
• Develops conveyor listings, calculates horsepowers and conveyor load points.
• Design steel structures, platforms, and ceiling hanger steel.
• Selects vendors for best quality and price on various equipment.
• Occasionally travels to project site to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission the system, and interface with the customer.
• Assists/Trains newer engineers on conveyor topics.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Analytical, detail oriented and thorough.
• Proficient in AutoCad.
• Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Capable of working as part of the design and implementation team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• 3-5 years experience in material handling industry.
• Management experience with a minimum of 2-5 employees.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in General Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
