POSITION:

Installation Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incumbent may work in all types of weather; around moving machinery, loud noise, dust, and fumes and on high man lifts. This position involves travel approximately 70% of work time.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Management. Typical responsibilities: supervises and coordinates the Hilmot conveyor projects; develops related budget items and monitors expenditures; interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates the performance of staff; establishes objectives, policies, and procedures; monitors construction schedules; determines project staffing requirements; coordinates project activities; organizes and coordinates training related to inspection and maintenance and conducts weekly construction meetings with Hilmot project Manager.
2. Contracts administration. Typical responsibilities: directs the review of plans and specifications for all projects and site conditions; conducts project pre-construction meetings to explain approval processes and establish lines of authority; attends project progress meetings to insure liaison among all related parties and maintenance of schedules and budgets; directs, attends, and supervises large project substantial completions; monitors year end warranties; directs the review, approval or rejection of contractor payment estimates, proposal requests, and change orders; monitors project budget to insure costs do not exceed funding levels; authorizes materials testing; reviews correspondence and inspection and testing reports; reviews progress reports and recommends action to insure project schedules are maintained; inspects construction to verify completion or deficiencies; mediates and resolves disputes among design professionals, user agencies, and contractors.
3. Consultation. Typical responsibilities: recommends construction means and methods for new systems, remodels, renovations, and repairs; prepares cost estimates of work; serves as construction manager to direct and coordinate system construction, system repairs, and related maintenance; researches new construction products, methods, procedures, and applications.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Good knowledge of the aspects of structural, mechanical, electrical, building construction and repair practices, materials, and equipment.
  • Experience planning, organizing, and directing staff involved in conveyor system projects
  • Experience preparing cost estimates; interpreting plans, drawings, and related specifications.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
