POSITION:

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the electrical engineering of carton handling conveyor systems. Each carton handling conveyor system is custom designed per customer specifications. This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and project management to develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customer's requirements for functionality, productivity and expense. Electrical Controls Engineers typically work on the design of larger and more complex systems. You will also be required to manage Electrical Controls Engineers in processing smaller electrical engineering jobs.

The Electrical Controls Engineer:

• Directs a CAD engineer in electrical design of the conveyor system including location of electrical devices to control the system.
• Prepares sequence of operations documentation, which describes how the system will function.
• Prepares schematics and specification for electrical control panel design.
• Prepares documentation and bid package for electrical contractors.
• Creates PLC (Program Logic Control) program for motor and solenoid controls.
• Travels to project site and implements PLC program. Ensures that electrical controls are operating as designed.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• A strong interest in applications based electrical engineering.
• Capable of working as part of the design and implementation team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• 3-5 years experience in material handling industry.
• Management experience with a minimum of 2-5 employees.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
